India Hicks

Humanitarian, Designer, and Author

Growing up as the daughter of decorator David Hicks and goddaughter of King Charles, India Hicks comes from both British and design royalty. The noted humanitarian, designer, and author lives on a small island in the Caribbean, where she raised her five children and now works on the fringes of fashion and the front lines of disaster relief. Professional accomplishments include writing four books, being an on-air personality for networks ranging from Bravo to the BBC, and lending her talents to the design world for more than two decades. Dearest to her heart are roles serving as an executive board member for Global Empowerment Mission and as a patron for The King’s Trust—opportunities that allow India to work in areas impacted by natural and manmade disasters and to raise awareness and funding for young women facing disadvantage and adversity.

Female Founder, CEO, Designer

A humbly self-described accidental designer, Morgan Hutchinson launched BURU just two weeks after becoming a mother—turning a personal need for stylish, washable clothing into a purpose-driven fashion brand she now leads as Founder and CEO. Morgan began her career in New York as co‑founder of Passport Panties, a shapewear line sold in over 500 stores including Neiman Marcus and Henri Bendel. After welcoming her first child, Morgan found herself searching for a wardrobe that could keep up with motherhood without sacrificing style, and Buru was born. Drawing inspiration from the silhouettes worn by her mother and grandmother, she creates pieces that are wearable, washable, and crafted from vibrant deadstock fabrics, always with practical pockets and her signature whimsy.
